Fuchia garden takes shape in the Arboretum   (Posted 8/11/2009)
Although the sign says "Future Site of Hardy Fuchsia Species Collection" The future is now if you look at our Hardy Fuchsia Species Garden. Granted the plantings are a bit sparse, but working with the Western Fuchsia Species Society (WFSS), Board member Ione Tufts has already populated the garden with several plants. The garden will continue to take shape later this year and will be complete by next year when it will feature species of fuchsias from all over the world. Species currently in the garden include:

  • F. campos-portoi
  • F. bracelinea
  • F. coccinea
  • F. magellanica
  • F. procumbens
  • F. hatschbachii
  • F. glazioviana
  • F. splendens
  • F. denticulata
  • F. ravenii

Visit the Arboretum now to see these species fuchsias as well as the many hybrids we have growing in our perennial beds.
