Nancy Claire Guth joins the Arboretum Board   (Posted 1/27/2010)
This January, LWAF welcomed Nancy Claire Guth as a Board member-at-large. Nancy has been active in Arboretum activities for the past few years. Her new master plan for the Smith-Mossman Western Azalea Garden has brought about major enhancements to the garden in the past two years.

Nancy has degrees from South Seattle Community College (SSCC) in Environmental Horticulture and in Landscaper Design and Construction. At SSCC, she served on the SSCC curriculum committee for 6 years and has also been a guest speaker there.

Working at her company, Artistic Garden Concepts, Nancy specializes in rain gardens, drought tolerant gardens, and meadow gardens as well as hardscape features. An organic bent typically highlights her designs. She has received many awards for her garden designs, including the gold medal and Fred Palmer awards at the NW Flower and Garden Show. She has also been featured on Gardening with Cisco and on Ed Hume's radio show.

Nancy says she is "honored to serve on Arboretum." As a Board member, she plans to help improve the function of the overall Arboretum space as well as participate in educating the public in organic gardening practices. Using her background in education and business, Nancy looks forward to increasing public and corporate awareness of the Arboretum.
