Docents needed - First training session on Feb 4th   (Posted 1/27/2010)
Lake Wilderness Arboretum Foundation is currently recruiting volunteers who are willing to share a few hours of their time each month to lead visitors on a tour of Lake Wilderness Arboretum. LWA Foundation's Docent Tour group will begin a short training program for returning and new docents Thursday, February 4th at 12:30PM at the Arboretum. You don't need to be a plant, history, or LWA Foundation "guru" to participate. Reference materials will be provided as well as on-sight tour training with experienced docents. If you can't make the February 4th training, check our calendar for other training sessions.

Tours will be offered to the public the third Saturday of each month from April through October. These tours are a great way to help the public learn about Arboretum collections, the gardens, and other features found at the 42 acre, green refuge in Maple Valley. It's also a great way to learn a little of the fascinating history of the area and the volunteer group that has developed, managed, and supported Lake Wilderness Arboretum since 1969.

For more information on our docent tour program and how you can participate, email us at: tours@lakeWildernessArboretum.org or call the Foundation at 425-413-2572.
