What's in Bloom?   (Posted 3/29/2010)
Well, I just got back from the Arboretum and took some pictures of what's in bloom. Take a look and add some notes to the picture gallery and tell me what I photographed! I know what I like, but I don't always know what I'm looking at :-) Property Management and Development Chair, Maria VanZanen tells me that the following plants are now in blooming in the Legacy Garden.

  • Corylopsis pauciflora (Buttercup Winterhazel)
  • Epimedium sulphureum
  • Anemone nemorosa (Wood anemone)
  • Ribes sanguineum(Pink flowering currant)
  • Forsythia ssp
  • Corylopsis spicata (Spike winter hazel)
  • Pulmonaria ssp
  • Primula ssp
  • Rhododendron pseudochrysanthum
  • Rhododendron lutescens
  • Camellia japonica
  • Rhododendron ciliatum
  • Osmanthus delavayi (Sweet olive)
I saw fawn lilies and trilliums in the Shade Garden. Come take a look and see what else you can see.
