Arboretum Work Parties

We invite you to volunteer at one (or more) of our work parties where we perform tasks required for properly maintaining and upgrading the Arboretum. Our financial resources require that this important work be done with the help of our many volunteers. You do not have to be a member of the Arboretum Foundation to participate and you are welcome to work at a work party for any length of time. Our work parties provide opportunties for community service projects for groups and individuals - young and old.

Work parties occur throughout each week on a regularly scheduled basis. See our Event List for specific times.

Work parties focus on tasks related to the Arboretum Nursery or to the Arboretum grounds.

  • Example nursery tasks:
    • Propagate plants via cuttings and seeds
    • Maintain the Arboretum's propagation facilities
    • Pot plants
    • Maintain plant inventory
    • Support plant sales

  • Example Arboreum grounds tasks:
    • Care for established gardens and grounds
    • Support development of new gardens
    • Plant new plants throughout the Arboretum
    • Maintain trails
    • Support development of other new features

We recommend that new volunteers call or email the Arboretum Foundation to insure that a volunteer coordinator will be present during their first work session. Call us at 425.413.2572 or email us at Volunteer@LakeWildernessArboretum.org
